Two AC Outputs
The high speed AC transfer switch ensures continuous AC output with no interruptions. If shore/generator power is disconnected (in the event of a grid failure), the Multiplus takes over the power supply to the connected loads. This happens so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without disruption.
Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel operation
Up to 6 Multiplus inverter/chargers can operate in parallel to achieve higher power output. For example, six 24/5000/120 units will provide 30 kVA output power with 720 Amps charging capacity.
Three phase capability
In addition to parallel connection, three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase output.
PowerControl – Dealing with limited generator, shore side or grid power
The MultiPlus is a very powerful battery charger. It can draw a lot of current from the generator or shore supply. With the Multi Control Panel a maximum generator or shore current can be set. The MultiPlus will then take over supply of other AC loads thus preventing the generator or shore supply from being overloaded.
PowerAssist – Boosting the capacity of shore or generator power
Peak power is often required for only a limited period, the MultiPlus will make sure that if shore/generator power is insufficient, it immediately compensates by using power from the battery. When the load reduces to a more normal level, the spare power is used to recharge the battery.
Example: Using the Honda EU10i with Phoenix MultiPlus 12/1600/70. The Honda EU10i delivers a maximum of 1000W. The MultiPlus 12/1600/70 delivers 1600W. So the total available power is 2600W. You have the possibility to simultaneously use heavy power tools, microwave and other heavy loads. As soon as the power demand reduces and the generator has enough power available to supply the loads by itself, the inverter function is changed for the charger function and the battery is recharged with a maximum of 70 amps.
Adaptive smart charger and dual bank battery charging
The powerful battey charger uses advanced ‘adaptive charge’ software. The software fine-tunes the three stage automatic process to suit the condition of the battery, and adds a forth stage for long periods of float charging. An example of the advanced charging software is the ‘variable absorption charging time’. Classic 3-step chargers have a fixed absorption time which can easily overcharge the battery if it is activated often through-out the day. The Multiplus charger will adjust the absorption charging time depending on the recent discharge history. This ensures the battery is not overcharged and increases it’s longevity.
The MultiPlus will charge a second battery bank using an independent trickle charge output intended for a main engine or generator starter battery.
